Emergency + Appointments

This is the doorway to Seven Counties Services and the network of available resources within our region. Services include telephone screenings, referrals, and scheduling. Interpreters for non-English speaking persons are provided upon request. Seven Counties Services provides crisis services to: adults, children, families, individuals with substance use disorders, and individuals with developmental disabilities.

Crisis/Emergency

If you are experiencing a crisis or emergency, you can contact the following:

Emergency Services provides 24-hour evaluation and intervention for adults in severe emotional distress. This service is located in University Hospital in Emergency Psychiatric Services.

Children and Youth Call: 502.589.8070 or 800.432.4510
Acute Child Psychiatric Services provides 24 hours a day assessment, intervention and referral for children, adolescents and families who are experiencing psychiatric emergencies.
Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) – An intensive, short-term inpatient program for children who do not need hospitalization, but require intervention beyond outpatient treatment.

Provides on-site prevention and response services to individuals diagnosed with developmental disabilities who are experiencing a crisis. These services include but are not limited to, the following: assessments, support services, on-site crisis response and respite. Please call 502.459.5292 during normal business hours. If experiencing an overdose please call 911 or seek your closest emergency room. Adults: JADAC provides assessments for those experiencing substance use issues Monday-Friday 8a-8pm. If in crisis outside of regular business hours, please contact Crisis & Information Center 502.589.4313. Youth- Acute Child services provides crisis assessments 24/7 502.589.8070. Child Access/Acute can make referrals to our Adolescent Residential Program, Lighthouse or Intensive Outpatient Program.

Crisis and Information Center:
Specially-trained crisis counselors help callers define problems and feelings and explore possible solutions. This call center is also the main point of contact for mental health responses to community emergencies or disasters. Emergency Psychiatry Services:
Located at 530 South Jackson, in University Hospital, Emergency Psychiatry Services (EPS) are available 24/7 for adults experiencing a mental health crisis. Just go to the hospital emergency room (if you need directions or more information call 502.­562.­3120) and specially trained social workers and University Hospital doctors will work with you and your family to stabilize the emergency and refer you or a family member to outpatient services at Seven Counties Services or another community provider.

Regular appointments and walk-in information

To make your first appointment, start by calling the Seven Counties Services’s Access Office at 502.589.1100 or ­800.264.8799

Deaf or hard of hearing individuals, please email dhhservices@sevencounites.org. Interpreters for non-­English speaking persons are provided upon request. If you need to cancel or reschedule your first appointment, call the Access office as soon as you know you need to cancel.

First visits usually last 1 – 2 hours. It is important for you to arrive 15­- 20 minutes early to fill out paperwork. You will need to bring a list of medications you are taking, a list of mental health, developmental services or addiction services you may have received in the past, insurance or medical card, proof of income and emergency contact information. If you are under 18 years of age, a parent or guardian, with proof of guardianship, will need to attend.

If you do not have health insurance and are not in crisis, you can complete the Resources Assessment Form. This form allows us to determine whether you may meet state criteria to be seen on a sliding fee scale (a fee based on your household income).  To access the form, click here
